In the News: Palo Alto Tunnel Worker Killed in Deadly Accident

Palo Alto Tunnel Worker Killed by Another Worker Driving a Bobcat

On Thursday, July 12, 2018, a construction worker was killed in a deadly accident at Crossroads Community Church on Middlefield Road in Palo Alto, CA. The tunnel worker was reportedly killed while another worker was repaving the parking lot and ran over him with a Bobcat vehicle.

Unfortunately, fatalities like this are all too common among construction and industrial workers. Large machines and vehicles like Bobcats pose a serious threat for working people, especially when those operating such devices are behaving recklessly, not paying attention, or unable to control the vehicle in order to avoid hurting other workers.

What to Do if You’re Hurt in an Accident Involving a Heavy Industrial Vehicle

Working with or around heavy vehicles can lead to workers being crushed, run over, pinned, or caught in moving parts. If they do not lead to death, they inevitably lead to severe wounds such as traumatic brain injuries, spinal damage, mutilation, and more, all of which can starkly reduce the injured person’s quality of life and create insurmountable piles of medical bills and injury-related expenses. If this happens to you or someone you love, you may need a workers’ compensation attorney to help you ensure your employer’s insurance provider pays you fairly and proportionately to the damage you have suffered.
